How to Get IKEA Spare Parts

No matter if you are moving from room to room, across the street, or relocating to another country some how some way furniture parts always magically disappear. Despite all the work and effort some of us put into making sure each and every screw, nut, and bolt are accounted for there’s always a part that will be M.I.A.
I’m not sure how most companies deal with spare parts, missing parts, and sometimes even broken parts. What I do know IKEA has set up 3 ways for customers to replace some of the basic spare parts for free. DO NOT BUY SPARE PARTS FROM THIRD PARTY VENDORS.

Order spare parts online directly from IKEA.com IKEA spare parts are free in most cases even if IKEA ships them to you.
Go to your nearest IKEA and talk to customer service. If the store doesn’t have it in stock they should assist you in ordering them online.
Talk to a co-worker in the As-Is section of IKEA. If they have them in stock they will just give them to you. If they don’t go to customer service.
My IKEA Tip: if you have you assembly instruction bring them or take a photo of the exact part you need. Assembly instructions can be downloaded directly from IKEA.com if you can’t locate your original.
