On the surface IKEA tries to portray themselves as the ideal workplace, all about inclusion, and togetherness. However, I can speak from personal experiences that IKEA co-workers are over worked, under paid, emotionally and mentally abused. Often co-workers are threaten with hour cuts and write ups if they speak out or speak up.
Daily I’ve spoke with co-workers in my location who have experiences similar to my own. Over the years working for IKEA, I’ve spoke to co-workers from other locations who previously worked in my location and have moved to work in other locations hoping my location was plague by the people working in IKEA and not the company as a whole. One thing is true, there is inclusion and togetherness amongst the salary and management. However at the experience of misusing hourly co-workers.
Let me be clear there are some good people who work within the company. But the company has cultivated a culture of misuse and abuse and only a few can good people cannot change and entire culture.
